KFC Franchise Celebrate 70th Anniversary

From SlashFood: To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Colonel's Original Recipe, food franchise KFC fried up 2,000 pounds of chicken in the heart of its hometown in an attempt to steal the Guinness World Record for the "world's largest serving of fried chicken."

The outsized order was served up in a mega version of KFC's iconic bucket - 8 feet tall and 9 feet wide.

Food Franchise Approved for Loan

From Al.com: When it came to helping a Dunkin' Donuts food franchise operator open a flagship shop near the University of Alabama at Birmingham, it was a slam-dunk for the Birmingham City Council's economic development committee.

The panel unanimously approved giving a short-term, low interest loan over $360,000.
